Judges 6:14 - "And the Lord looked upon him, and said, go in this thy might"
The very first time I did any public speaking was to a group of teenagers from a Youth Group in the church I was attending in 1980. I had just arrived into the backyard of the house where we were meeting, and was helping out with the set up when the leader of the group came up to me and whispered in my ear, "why don't you lead the discussion tonight?". Before I could answer, it was time to start, and with no time to prepare, I led a simple discussion and from what I was told afterward, it went pretty well. What they didn't see was my knees knocking and my sweaty palms, but I learned something very important that night.
I learned that two-thirds of God is "go"! In other words, to see God move in our lives, we just need to just start! In Judges 6, God decides to choose a man named Gideon to deliver Israel out of the hands of their enemy, the Midianites. When God first called Gideon, he was hiding by the winepress threshing wheat, yet He calls him a mighty man of valor. God saw in Gideon what Gideon could not see in himself, greatness!
I believe God sees that in you today. That you were created by God to do extraordinary things. The Lord said one thing to Gideon, "go" in this thy might. Gideon didn't feel prepared or qualified for greatness, but God said GO! He has given us an assignment to fulfill on this earth and placed dreams in the heart of every man and woman. He is telling us today to go, to make the step forward, and He will go with us. When God sends you, He will be with you!
