Two Outs and One On
July 18, 2012
Galatians 4:4 (Amplified Bible) - "But when the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman".
Being that we are in the middle of baseball season, you know that I'm going to have at least one (maybe two) E-messages on this sport that I love so much! I love it because a) it's a great sport, b) my Yankees are usually in first place, I like to win, and c) baseball season has great weather.
The thing about playing baseball, it's not always about what you do, as much as when you do it, and when you do it is all about the "clutch". Clutch means to be successful in a crucial situation. It's what you do when the game is on the line. For instance, there are some players that are great "practice players" who are...great in practice. But when the game is on the line, they are nowhere to be found. They get nervous and hope that they won't get up to the plate in a crucial situation. The phrase "two outs and one on [base]" is a situation where one hit will drive in a winning run, that's the time you want that hit, not when there is no one on base.
God is "clutch"! He is always on time, He does great things in the most crucial situations. In Galatians 4:4 it says "in the fullness of time", or at the exact and proper time, Jesus was born as our Savior. God's timing is always perfect if we will just trust in Him, that's the key folks, TRUST. My Pastor used to always say it this way, "God is never early, God is never late, but He is always on time". Praise God!
You may be facing some challenges today...it's the "ninth inning" and "you're down one run", and there's "two outs and one on"! God is clutch!! God gets the important hits when they matter the most. Listen to me today, God is going to come through for you today! This is not the time to give up hope, throw in the towel, put your head down in defeat. God is making a way where there is no way. We serve a clutch God!
