Psalms Read Here
April 11, 2012

Psalm 1:1-2 "Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is only in the law of the Lord; and in His law he meditates day and night."

I love the book of Psalms.  What a wonderful collection of Holy Spirit inspired songs and praises to God that lift your soul and help during times of trouble and suffering.  I recommend reading a chapter from Proverbs every morning and a Psalm every night, which my good friend Joe Balina calls P&P!

When you know how powerful the Word of God is in your life, you want to snatch the people out of darkness who search for answers through the occult!  People who go to fortune tellers and have their palms read, who go to parties where a psychic or clairvoyant has been hired to entertain the crowd.  All searching for spiritual direction in life.  "Psalms Read Here" in contrast to "Palms Read Here" says that it's the Word of God that gives you power to overcome in everyday life.

You see, God creates and Satan can only pervert what God created, he can't create anything.  He can only twist what is true to try and trick people into a lie, like having their palm read.  The reader, trained in this sort of thing and operating in familiar spirits, gives them just enough information to hook them in and gain their interest, but they're really scam artists and charlatans.  People think this is a harmless game or a joke or just for fun, even born again Christians.  But it's not, it's serious.  Satan wants to draw people into the occult by making people think that there is no difference between going to God or to psychics, that it's all spiritual.  Most people don't even know what they're getting into.

In Acts 16:16, this sort of thing is called a spirit of divination, or in the Greek, a spirit of Python.  A python slowly and methodically squeezes the life out of its victims.  The Apostle Paul called that spirit out, exposing Satan as a deceiver, and God as all powerful.  Hebrews 4:12 says that the Word of God is quick and alive and sharper than any two-edged sword.  Ephesians 6:17 says that the Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit, the very weapon used to defeat our opponent, all principalities and powers and rulers of wickedness.  When we speak the written Word of God, we cut in pieces the snares and attacks of the enemy, giving us the victory every time!

Psalm 1:1 says that the man who delights himself in the Word of God is happy and blessed, and in verse three says that "whatever he does shall prosper".  Hallelujah!  That's a guarantee.  Make this same declaration in your life, "Psalms Read Here"!  If you haven't already, decide that meditating on and speaking God's Word day and night is a top priority in your life!  Psalms Read Here!
